Walter Markunas
Looking forward to seeing again, the biggest little man I ever met and had the privilege of being related to. Only five feet tall and ninety pounds, he never suffered from “small man syndrome” which seems to manifest itself in a bad temper and challenging personality. He was happy, kind, easy going and funny. He often whistled.
Uncle Mark was an avid fisherman. My favorite memory was him advising me to get up early, row a mile down the lake to just in front of the local priest’s house. He assured me plenty of catch there because the priest said mass to the fish every morning!
